KNX Matter Server: Make your smart home even smarter!
Connect your Matter smart home apps to your KNX system!
Setting up a building automation system based on KNX has many advantages – and now there's another! With the Elsner KNX Matter Server, you can bring the KNX cosmos and your smart home apps such as Apple Home or Google Home to your mobile phone in one interface!
With the KNX Matter Server, you can take advantage of the two largest open smart home systems – KNX & Matter – by connecting them together and controlling them in a shared app. You can use the device to create your own visualisation or user interface in the app with Matter support and can also operate Matter and KNX devices via voice control. You can add new devices (both KNX and Matter) quickly and easily.
And your KNX system integrator will also be pleased: thanks to the KNX Matter server, they can access the local system and the ETS remotely quickly, easily and securely.
Secure remote access to the ETS project for the integrator
For smart home owners
What the KNX Matter Server can do
The Elsner KNX Matter Server will take you to the next level of building automation: It allows you to connect your in-house KNX system with the Matter smart home system, e.g. for Apple Home, Google Home, Samsung Smart Things. Once set up, you can use the server to control your KNX and Matter devices conveniently and easily via your familiar Matter app on your smartphone. And it gets even more convenient: you can even use your smartphone's voice control thanks to the KNX Matter Server powered by 1Home – for both your Matter and KNX devices.
New as of July 2025, the server also offers:
Seamless integration with Loxone systems
Connectivity via Crestron Home platforms
Extended Matter support to IoT devices — IoT Gateway functionality
Are you wondering about the security of your data? No need to worry! The KNX Matter server can be operated without the Internet, as it works locally. KNX and Matter do not require Internet access, so you are completely independent of the World Wide Web. Exceptions: Internet access may be required for account creation with Apple Home, for KNX Matter server updates and automatic ETS detection and, if necessary, for your smart home apps such as Apple Home, Google Home or similar. The servers for the updates are located in German data centres, so that German data protection law applies.
For integrators
How the KNX Matter Server supports you
The KNX Matter server offers a number of advantages for integrators or more technically experienced users: simple visualisation or user interface in any app compatible with Matter, logic modules for creating or expanding automation. Automatic functions can be set in the KNX server via the browser. Perfect for the layman: you need absolutely no ETS knowledge! Another plus point: The KNX Matter Server offers secure remote access to the ETS project in the building. A secure network tunnel is set up without VPN – including automatic disconnection after a freely selectable period of time.
