Save CO2 with KNX

News of 16 May 2024

Saving resources thanks to smart building automation

According to a UNEP report, the average household in the EU produces 7.2 tonnes of CO2.Quite a lot – but with the help of KNX, this figure can be reduced in the smart home.

How does that work?

  • With individual room control:
Precise control of lighting, heating, air conditioning and other electrical devices via KNX. Adjustment to actual demand can avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
  • With constant light control:
Various KNX sensors ensure, for example, that the light is only switched on when someone is actually in the room and that the lighting is adjusted according to the amount of daylight.
  • With monitoring and analysis:
Thanks to sensors and measuring devices, KNX systems can monitor energy consumption and provide data for analysis. On this basis, you can make optimisations to further reduce the carbon footprint.

We are sure you can think of many more possibilities.
