Electric vehicle charging stations at Elsner Elektronik

Together on the road to sustainability

We at Elsner Elektronik are pleased to operate our own electric vehicle charging points directly at our company headquarters in Ostelsheim (Germany).

These charging points are not only available to our employees, but also to the public. Together we are setting an example for environmentally conscious driving and sustainability.

Rising number of electric vehicles

There are now more than 880,000 electric cars and hybrid vehicles* on the roads in Germany, including one in our company fleet that is used for business trips. Many of our employees have also switched to electric mobility.

We have therefore decided to install eight charging points in our company car park for employees, customers and visitors.

In addition, a publicly accessible charging station is available. This is intended for the resident companies in the Sohlengrund industrial estate as well as for residents of the region and people passing through. While your car is charging, you can take a well-deserved break in the idyllic surroundings of Ostelsheim.

Charging vehicle batteries

Our charging pole, which is open to the public, has two type 2 sockets and two protective contact sockets that allow electric cars, electric scooters and e-bikes to be charged.

The charging process can be started by using RFID cards placed on the charging pole's reader or by telephone activation. The exact instructions can be found directly on the charging pole.

Depending on the vehicle type and state of charge, a charging process takes between 45 and 120 minutes. This gives you enough time to run your errands or relax while your electric vehicle is charging.

Our contribution to sustainability

At Elsner Elektronik, we pursue a comprehensive sustainability concept. In addition to providing the electric vehicle charging station, we have installed eight new charging points for company, employee and customer vehicles.

This enables us to optimise the use of hybrid vehicles and reduce CO2 emissions. Our fleet currently consists of 25 % hybrid vehicles and 20 % pure electric vehicles.

For the realisation of our sustainable mobility, we receive subsidies from the European Union (NextGenerationEU) with the help of the German Capacity Building and Resilience Plan (DARP).

Renewable energy sources

Energy supply changed

To ensure that our charging points are supplied with sustainable energy, we have changed our energy supply.

Since the beginning of 2022, we have been sourcing electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources. The self-generated solar power supply in summer via our photovoltaic system on the company roof plays a significant role in this.
