Solar power for Elsner Elektronik

Photovoltaic modules supply energy for production, development and administration at Elsner Elektronik

308 modules, each with a peak output of 320 Wp, are installed on the roof of our company building in Ostelsheim.

The energy yield is distributed throughout the day thanks to the east/west orientation. This meets the energy requirements of production and administration.

The exposed location also ensures maximum solar yield.

Powerful battery

Energy storage

The green energy is channelled into a battery storage system on site. This battery has a usable capacity of 74.7 kWh.

Excess energy is stored for later use when the sun is shining.

Once the battery storage system is full, the energy is fed into the grid.

Independence from the grid

Energy utilisation

Thanks to the storage system, the "own" electricity is also available at night, for example, to operate our IT technology. It is also independent of the grid. In the event of grid failures, the system switches to stand-alone operation and continues to supply the company.

Observations show that the system supplies significantly more in summer than Elsner Elektronik consumes. This means that even in winter and in the longer term, our products will be largely generated using environmentally friendly solar power.

Saving resources in building technology

The careful use of resources is a key issue for us, even with our own products.

The aim of building automation is safe, comfortable and energy-optimised building operation. This has been optimally realised in the Elsner Elektronik company building, especially with regard to room air conditioning. Comfort and energy saving are one and the same here, with automatic shading of the large window fronts playing a key role.

Thermal insulation

Blinds as a central element

In summer, the closed blinds serve as thermal insulation, in winter they are retracted: The sun shining in helps to heat the building free of charge until the desired room temperature is reached.

The solar system is therefore just one component in the endeavour to reduce energy requirements and cover them in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
