Remo 8i radio remote control for conservatories and buildings

For manual control of shading, ventilation and lighting

The Remo 8i radio remote control is designed for manual control of functions in conservatories and buildings. It is suitable for blinds, awnings, windows or lights and can be used with numerous control systems from Elsner Elektronik, including Solexa II, WS1000 Connect or W1 Color/Style. Direct connection to the RF-MSG-ST radio motor control unit is also possible.

The buttons on the Remo 8i allow switching commands to be executed quickly and reliably. The display shows the individually assigned device names, making operation particularly clear and intuitive. The Remo 8i offers the option of transferring settings to other remote controls. This makes it easy to duplicate configured devices – an advantage for series installations or the setup of multiple construction phases.

Individual channel naming

Device names instead of numbers

With the Remo 8i, you can assign each channel an individual name, such as ‘Patio awning’ or ‘East side ventilation’. This ensures clarity and prevents operating errors, especially in more complex projects. The names are clearly displayed on the integrated display. The button operation remains classic and intuitive. This means that even users without technical knowledge can control devices safely, without an app or smartphone.

Transfer settings

With the duplication function of the Remo 8i, the settings of configured remote controls can be easily transferred to other devices of the same model. This saves time during commissioning, especially in projects with multiple control points of the same type. Whether in residential complexes, hotel rooms or model buildings: you can duplicate defined settings easily and reliably. Operation is via simple key combinations directly on the remote control. This keeps control standardised and flexible at the same time.

Works without app / network connection

Intuitive operation without mobile devices

The Remo 8i radio remote control works completely without WiFi or mobile devices. This makes it particularly reliable and independent of the respective network status. Users do not need a smartphone, app or access data. This makes it ideal for environments where several people have access, such as guests, tenants or service staff. Manual control is via button commands with clear feedback and proven operating logic.

Typical application examples

From individual applications in private homes to series installations in commercial buildings, the Remo 8i impresses in a wide range of applications. When used in combination with other products from Elsner Elektronik, the devices reveal their true effectiveness:

  • A holiday home on the coast. The owner hands over the key, nothing else. Her guests operate the awning, skylights and lighting intuitively via the Remo 8i, without an app, without instructions and without any support. Central control is provided by a Solexa II radio control system, which monitors wind and sun sensors. The Remo 8i is used for manual override, for example if guests want to sit outside longer in the evening or if the awning remains extended despite a wind warning.
  • A hotel with 20 identically equipped rooms. Configure once, apply twenty times. The Remo 8i settings are conveniently transferred to all remote controls using the duplicate function. In the background, a WS1000 Connect building control system automatically controls the blinds based on the time and weather data. With the Remo 8i, guests can intervene manually if necessary, for example to let light in in the afternoon or to activate complete blackout at night. The uniform operating logic of the wireless remote control ensures that minimal explanation is required.
  • A modern conservatory with intelligent control. Shade for breakfast in the morning, fresh air in the evening via ventilation. The WS1 Color building control system takes over automatic control depending on the temperature, position of the sun or the time of day. The Remo 8i complements the system with manual options: ventilation at the touch of a button, retracting the awning when leaving the house. The remote control display clearly shows users which function is currently being controlled, e.g. ‘Open window’ or ‘Blinds east side’.
  • An apartment building with comfort for all residents. The property manager uses the compact RF-MSG-ST radio module to control the shading in each apartment individually – without any complicated wiring. The Remo 8i wireless remote control offers tenants easy operation: ‘Balcony awning’ or ‘South-facing windows’ instead of channel 1 or 2. When replacing or moving in, the configured settings of the remote control are duplicated. This means that it is ready for use again in seconds, the administrative effort is minimal and operation is self-explanatory.

Reliable control without the need for an app, simple integration and clear structures make the Remo 8i the ideal solution for standardised projects and frequently changing user groups.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Remo 8i

Can I use several Remo 8i devices in the same building at the same time without signals interfering with each other?

Yes. Each Remo 8i handheld transmitter can be configured individually. The channels are clearly addressed so that several remote controls can be operated in parallel in the same radio network without interference.

What is the range of the Remo 8i radio signal?

The range of the Elsner RF protocol is typically approx. 20 m indoors and up to 100 m in open space. Walls and interference from other radio sources can affect the range.

Is the Remo 8i protected against accidental control?

Yes. The combination of clearly assigned channels and unique coupling with receivers prevents incorrect switching. In addition, the device can be secured for specific projects through targeted channel assignments.

Can I integrate the Remo 8i into existing RF projects?

Yes, provided that the control system used utilises the Elsner RF protocol, the Remo 8i can be easily added, for example as an additional operating option in the event of subsequent changes in use or tenant changes.

What happens when a battery is empty? Are the settings retained?

Yes. The configuration (channel names, assignments, etc.) is retained even when the battery is empty. After replacing the battery, the Remo 8i is immediately ready for use again.

Are there any restrictions on the number of devices that can be duplicated?

No. A configured Remo 8i can be transferred to other remote controls as often as required, provided they are the same model. This saves a lot of time, especially in series installations.

Can I rename or reassign channels retrospectively?

Yes. The channel name and assignment can be changed at any time on the remote control without software, app or PC. This makes subsequent changes to the project easier.
