eTR Secure: KNX room controllers that simply work

Future-ready, intuitive to operate and easy to commission

Good room automation goes unnoticed. It simply works. With eTR Secure, Elsner Elektronik introduces a new generation of KNX room controllers designed with exactly this in mind. Instead of adding more and more functions to a single device, the focus is on what is actually needed in the room.

The user interface is easy to understand without extensive familiarisation. Key settings are directly accessible and can be adjusted intuitively. A well-structured application also simplifies planning, commissioning and later adjustments within the project.

The new generation also creates greater clarity within the product range: functions and pricing are structured in a logical way, making it easier to select the right device for each application without unnecessary complexity.

How this approach is implemented in practice becomes clear in the core functions of the new generation. eTR Secure builds on what has proven itself over many years and develops the series further in a targeted way.

What’s new in the eTR Secure generation?

With eTR Secure, the room controller range has been fundamentally revised: devices are more clearly differentiated by function and can be selected specifically according to project requirements.

Installation and commissioning have also been simplified. Features such as KNX Data Secure, semantic tagging and Smart Linking enable more efficient parameterisation and save time during project implementation. Proven device functions remain fully available.

Optimised processes in development and manufacturing also allow for a new pricing structure. This makes entry into professional KNX room automation more accessible, without compromising on quality or functionality.

New requirements for automation

Why was a new generation of the eTR series developed?

The requirements for room automation have changed significantly over the years. In addition to functional aspects, topics such as IT security, semantic data structures, Smart Linking and simple commissioning now play a much more important role. With the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), clear regulatory requirements are also being introduced, making further technical development of existing products necessary.

For Elsner Elektronik, this was not just an obligation, but an opportunity to fundamentally revise the entire eTR series. The aim was not only to adapt the devices to new requirements, but also to make them clearer in structure and easier to use.

The user interface and application are therefore consistently aligned with practical requirements. The integrated temperature sensor and binary inputs in each control unit also simplify project implementation. Features such as KNX Data Secure are included as standard, alongside new approaches to simplifying commissioning, for example through Smart Linking and a consistent semantic structure.

The result is a room control solution that is consistently oriented towards actual needs and is easier to plan, commission and operate – both in everyday use and within projects.

The starting point of the new generation

Which device marks the beginning of the new series?

The new generation of eTR room controllers begins with eTR 103 AC KNX sec. As the first device in the series, this room temperature controller for air conditioning systems demonstrates how the new approach is implemented in practice: clear structure, reduced complexity and a user interface that is easy to understand.

The room temperature controller is designed for use with VRF air conditioning systems and takes on key tasks in room climate control. Important settings such as setpoint temperature, fan speed and operating mode can be adjusted directly on the device and are clearly indicated via LEDs. In the background, a powerful application with integrated controllers, logic functions and flexible sensor integration ensures stable and adaptable operation.

This clearly demonstrates what defines the eTR Secure generation: a reduced and intuitive user interface combined with a functionally powerful solution in the background.
